Charles “Chuck” Lollar, Sr.’s passion for property rights has encompassed his 40-year legal career. Since his first property rights trial while in law school in 1976, Chuck has concentrated his practice on real estate litigation, with a specific focus on the representation of landowners threatened by eminent domain and real property rights litigation.
Chuck’s background in commercial real estate and real estate litigation benefits his property rights practice and his landowner clients. Charles Lollar is a Republican candidate for Governor of Maryland.
Charles Lollar brings many qualities to his candidacy: a devoted husband and father of four daughters, a Major in the Marine Corps, a business executive, and a concerned and committed citizen for his community and Maryland.
Charles was born in Toppenish, Washington. His father, a tax consultant, instilled in him a strong work ethic. His mother, a librarian, taught him compassion and caring for others.
Work combined with a sense of self-reliance and determination began at a young age for Charles with delivering newspapers before going to school. He worked his way through both high school and college by bagging groceries, stocking shelves, and selling items door-to-door.

Charles Lollar (born June 22, 1971) is an American businessman and Republican Party politician. A former Marine Corps officer, he was the Republican nominee for Maryland's 5th congressional district in 2010, losing to Democratic incumbent Steny Hoyer. After coming third in the Republican primary for Governor of Maryland in the 2014 election, he ran for the Charles County Board of Commissioners, losing to Democratic Commissioner Ken Robinson.
Early life and career[]
Lollar served in the Marine Corps from 1997 to 2003. He was deployed to the Balkans from March through October 1999 as part of Operation Joint Endeavor. Leaving active duty in July 2003, he joined the reserves and served as an intelligence officer at Headquarters Marine Corps.[1][2] He was then general manager for facility services corporation Cintas.[2] As of July 2014, he works as a budgeting and political consultant for government contractor Blackson Arrow.[3]
