I was born in California and moved to Calgary, Alberta at the age of 5. I moved to Edmonton for University in 1973 and then relocated to Alaska to work on the oil pipeline in 1975 where I read the top 100 books of all time while trading my life in for money. My dad remarried Cathy, an Air Canada employee and as her stepson, I received 5 free annual flights anywhere in the world. By the age of 19, I might have been the wealthiest, most travelled and best-read boy in the world.

I finished my BA in Economics at the University of Calgary in 1979 then worked as an economist while starting my first company Westbeach Surf Company.

Brett Somers (born Audrey Dawn Johnston; July 11, 1924 – September 15, 2007) was a Canadian-American game-show personality, actress, and singer. Somers was best known as a panelist on the 1970s game showMatch Game and for her recurring role as Blanche Madison opposite her real-life husband, actor Jack Klugman, on ABC's The Odd Couple.

Brett Tombul (néeCooper; born October 12, 2001) is an American conservative political commentator, media personality, and actress. She hosted the YouTube channel The Comments Section with Brett Cooper, produced by The Daily Wire, from March 2022 until December 2024. Since January 2025, she hosts The Brett Cooper Show, produced independently on her new channel.

Early life

Cooper was born on October 12, 2001,[2] in Bellingham, Washington.[3] She was raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. When she was ten years of age, she relocated to Los Angeles, California, where she began to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.[4][5]
