Biography

Min Zhang, MD, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics and director of Biostatistics Shared Resource of the UCI Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. Her research includes statistical inference for -omics data including genomic, epigenetic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic data (e.g., bulk and single-cell RNA-Seq, single-cell ATAC-Seq, nuclear magnetic resonance spectra data, and mass spectrometry data); statistical methods for genome-wide association studies (GWAS, both family-based and population-based); genomic selection; integrative omics data analysis; machine learning; quantitative trait loci (QTL) mapping; molecular marker profiling; statistical and computational methods for biomarker identification; transcriptome-wide gene regulatory network construction. Prior to UCI, she was at Purdue University, where she was a Professor in the Department of Statistics for nearly 20 years and the Associate Director of Data Science at the NCI-designated Purdue University Center for Cancer Re

Prof. Min Zhang received her Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2006. She has 18-year research and development experience in the field of microelectronics. She had worked for Solomon Systech Limited (Hong Kong), developing advanced semiconductor devices with well-known wafer foundries. Since 2012, she worked as faculty at School of Electronic and Computer Engineering of Peking University, also serving as deputy director of Thin Film Transistor and Advanced Display Lab and the founder of Nanoelectronics and Soft Electronics Lab etc. Later, she joined Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology

Zhang Min (simplified Chinese: 张民; traditional Chinese: 張民; pinyin: Zhāng Mín; born 24 March 1976) is a Chinese former competitive figure skater. He is a two-time Four Continents medalist and a three-time Chinese national champion. He competed at three Winter Olympic Games, placing as high as tenth, and finished a career-best seventh at the 2004 World Championships.

At the 1999 Four Continents, Zhang became the first skater to land a clean quadruple toe loop in the short program at an ISU Championship. He has also landed quadruple salchows in competition.
