Gaspard Ulliel's dream had always been to direct a movie, and after completing his studies at the lycée (French high school), he majored in cinema at the University of Saint-Denis, and began his acting career.
He was born in Paris, to Christine, a stylist and runway show producer, and Serge Ulliel, a fashion designer. One of his first professional performances came when he was twelve, in the TV film Une femme en blanc (1997). During the following years, Ulliel continued working on television and was cast in short films such as Alias (1999). He played a young shepherd who was injured by The Beast in Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001), and was then discovered by director Michel Blanc, who offered him a part in Summer Things (2002) which also starred veteran actress Charlotte Rampling. Ulliel then took summer stages at Les Cours Florent and was asked by director André Téchiné to star in Strayed (2003) as Emmanuelle Béart's over. Gaspard Ulliel (French pronunciation: [ɡaspaʁ yljɛl]; 25 November 1984 – 19 January 2022) was a French actor. He played the young Hannibal Lecter in Hannibal Rising (2007). He also played Yves Saint Laurent in the biopicSaint Laurent (2014). He was a model for Chanel men's fragrance Bleu de Chanel.
He was hired to play Anton Mogart / Midnight Man in the Disney+ series Moon Knight (2022).
Ulliel was nominated for a César Award in 2002 and 2003. In 2004, he won that award for his role in A Very Long Engagement.[1] In 2017, he won a César Award for his role in It's Only the End of the World.
On 18 January 2022, Ulliel was injured while skiing at a resort in Savoie, France.[2] He crashed into another skier and had serious brain trauma because he was not wearing a helmet.[2] He was taken by helicopter to a hospital near La Tronche, France.[3] Ulliel died the next day from his injuries, at the age of 37.[4][5]
