Sir William Cornelius Van Horne, KCMG (February 3, 1843 – September 11, 1915) was an American businessman, industrialist and railroad magnate who spent most of his career in Canada. He is famous for overseeing the construction of the first Canadian transcontinental railway, a project that was completed in 1885, in under half the projected time. He succeeded Lord Mount Stephen as president of the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) in 1888. Van Horne was responsible for launching the sea transport division of the CPR, which inaugurated regular service between Vancouver and Hong Kong in 1891.

William Cornelius, 77, of Pittsburgh passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024. Born on July 15, 1947, he was the adored son of Roy Cornelius and Mary Jane Cornelius.
William (aka Bill, Billy C.,Wild Bill, The Wizard, Wiz) was a proud and beloved member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local Union No. 154 Pittsburgh, PA for 37 years. After graduating from the apprenticeship he worked as a journeyman, was an elected health and welfare trustee, served in the National Guard, and was known for his hard work, infectious laughter and unforgettable pranks.
Outside of work, Bill wore many titles - dad, brother, grandpa, friend, custom car enthusiast, professional emcee, comedian and magician. One of his proudest achievements was being honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the Pittsburgh Magicians Society. Bill could make anyone smile with his quick wit, playful demeanor, and genuine good heart. He was a master of the room and always left people laughing.
