Biography

Moumita Das is coming from Habiganj, Sylhet, Bangladesh. She was born in 28th December, 1989. She admitted in Sylhet Agricultural University as an undergraduate student at the Faculty of Veterinary, Animal and Biomedical Sciences and achieved DVM degree in 2014. Later she obtained her Master degree in Epidemiology and Public Health from the same institution in 2017. After completing Master’s program DR. Moumita was seeking for a scholarship abroad and managed Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree program on “Infectious Disease and One Health” which she continued up to December 2019. But in order to join as a faculty in Sylhet Agricultural University she postponed the program. She joined as a Lecturer at the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at 20th December, 2019. Mahua Moitra

Indian politician (born 1974)

Mahua Moitra (Bengali pronunciation:[mohuamoi̯tro]; born 12 October 1974) is an Indian politician and former investment banker.[3] She won the 2019 Indian general election as an Trinamool Congress (TMC) party candidate from Krishnanagar[4] and served as a Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from 2019 to 2023 until being expelled. She was re-elected to parliament in the 2024 Indian general election.[5] She was noticed nationally and internationally for her ‘Early signs of fasicism’ speech address to Indian Parliament.

Moitra served as a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly representing Karimpur from 2016 to 2019,[6] and served as the general secretary and national spokesperson of the AITC. On 13 November 2023, Moitra was appointed AITC District President of Krishnanagar (Nadia North).
