ZedBazi was the first music group in Iran that used Explicit lyrics in their music. Graphic descriptions of sexual encounters, the consumption of narcotics and violence were not familiar topics to Iranian listeners. Therefore the group became the most talked about group among teenagers in Tehran that had only heard this type of expression from American Rappers. Another reason for ZedBazi's fame was that back in 2002 when the Saman Wilson made a cover of Eminems without me, there were no well known rappers in Iran, and if there were, they did not used "bad language" in their songs.

Zedbazi (Persian: زدبازی) is an Iranian hip hop band, formed by longtime friends Saman Wilson and Mehrad Hidden, with Sohrab MJ joining soon after and later joined by Sijal, Alireza JJ and Nassim. In a 2022 concert, the founder of the group (Saman Wilson) announced the group's two new members, Sepehr Khalse and Behzad Leito.

They are known as the pioneers of gangsta rap in Iran.[2][3] The band's most famous song, "Tabestoon Kootahe", is largely credited as the first widely heard piece of Persian rap.

The band was officially suspended in October 2014 for personal reasons.

On May 20, 2020, Zedbazi announced that the group was resuming activities on their Instagram page. Shortly after, on June 10, 2020, they released two singles, "Yakh" (یخ; meaning ice), a diss track to Moltafet band and Hichkas; and "Bache Mahal" (بچه محل; meaning "neighbourhood guy"), talking about their past path to becoming famous from the beginning of Persian rap in Iran. The songs were released on Radio Javan.[4]

Formed in 2001, ZedBazi was one the first bands in Persian Rap movement early 2000's. They are credited with introducing Gangsta Rap to Iran; Graphic descriptions of sexual encounters, glamorizing the consumption of narcotics, and invitations to physical violence. Between 2001 to 2005 the band became one of the most acclaimed hip hop groups among young adults in Iran.

In 2007 the group became a household name with the release of "Bi hess" and shortly after that their hit-single "Tabestoon Kootahe" after almost a 2-year hiatus. According to BBC Persian's music show "Kook", the song still remains one of the most popular persian rap songs of all time, the reason be the unique blend of persian hip hop and electronic dance music. Shortly after that, they featured on a remix of Erfan's hit-single "Khatte Man".
