Jeffery Austin McClelland, Jr. (born April 15, 1991), better known by his stage name Jeffery Austin, is an American pop musician and was a contestant on the ninth season of The Voice, turning a single chair and defaulting to be a member of Gwen Stefani's team. He eventually finished in fourth place, behind Jordan Smith, Emily Ann Roberts, and Barrett Baber. His compilation album, The Voice: The Complete Season 9 Collection, placed on the Billboard magazine charts.

Beloved family member, mandolinist, singer, songwriter and founder of The Jeff Austin Band, and Yonder Mountain String Band, Jeff Austin passed away June 24, 2019 in Seattle, Washington. He was son of Eileen Austin, husband to Devlyn, and father to Lily Rose (12), Penelope (5), and Jude Patrick (2).  He was a dear friend whose music touched the lives of so many, and will be sorely missed.  If you would like to make a contribution to help his family, please do so through the Jeff Austin Family Fund.

As a founding member of Yonder Mountain String Band, mandolinist, singer, & songwriter Jeff Austin is a prominent figure in the neo-progressive bluegrass of the new millennium. After 15 years with Yonder, he left in early 2014, choosing to pursue a solo career he officially launched in early 2015 with the release of the full-length Simple Truth.

Somebody said recently that the best thing a student could do was to get in some shows and publish a book; but nothing about becoming a human being, nothing about having important feelings or concepts of humanity. That's the sort of thing that is bad education. I'd say be a human being first and if you happen to wind up using photography, that's good for photography.

Since returning from Prague, Czech Republic in 1997 where he lived and studied photography at the Academy of Performing Arts, Film, TV and Photography (FAMU), Jeffrey Austin has specialized in documentary photography for numerous humanitarian organizations as well as portraiture and performing arts photography. Based in Minnesota, Jeffrey has traveled extensively around the world in areas such as Vietnam, Cuba, Albania, Kosovo, West Africa, Russia and China working both for clients and developing his personal projects.
