On television, she played Linda Williams, the stepdaughter of Danny Williams (played by Danny Thomas) in the long-running TV series The Danny Thomas Show, and Penny Robinson in the 1960s television series Lost in Space. In 1955, when Angela was only three, she starred in the film Somebody Up there Likes Me(1956) as Paul Newman's daughter. The film won two Oscars and a nomination, which Angela shortly followed with Something of Value(1957) with Rock Hudson and Sidney Poiter.
Angela was only five when she began her very successful TV acting career as the adorable little stepdaughter, Linda Williams in Danny Thomas's, Make Room for Daddy(1956-1964). Angela starred on the show for seven seasons; during which time Angela also starred in Lad: A Dog(1962), with Carroll O'Conner. Angela thereafter co-starred with Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer as Brigitta Von Trapp in the multi-award winning film, The Sound of Music(1965).
